As the year comes to a close, Revry is rolling out the most viewed and celebrated movies and shows in queer entertainment. Revry Wrapped 2023 provides a list of the most-watched movies and TV shows from 2023, featuring an array of queer classics and original series that took the network by storm.

Nostalgia took center stage in LGBTQ+ cinema this year on Revry, with timeless classics like "Who's That Girl" featuring Madonna and Griffin Dunne, "The Hunger" starring the legendary David Bowie and Susan Sarandon, and "This Boy's Life" headlined by Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, all emerging as favorites among queer audiences. 

In 2023, these films ranked as the preferred choices among viewers seeking entertainment and a connection to LGBTQ+ cinematic heritage, pushing the network to nearly 500 million hours of watch time on Revry's free ad-supported TV channels. Audiences enjoyed these LGBTQ+ shows and movies on various platforms, including Samsung TV Plus, VIZIO WatchFree+, Roku, Rakuten TV, Xumo, Freevee, Philo Fubo, and Plex.

The top 5 states for Revry viewers are California (13%), New York (12%), Texas (9%), Florida (6%) /New Jersey (6%) and Virginia (5%), accounting for more than half of all viewers. Top cities include Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Ashburn (VA), Miami and Secaucus (NJ).

What genres are the Revry Audience Watching?

Rom-com and drama dominated as the top genres of the year, collectively making up 64% of the most watched programming with nearly 5 million viewers of Revry. These included "Boy Meets Girl," a charming 2015 film starring Michael Welch and Alexandra Turshen. Additionally, 2017’s, "A Very Sordid Wedding," featuring Whoopi Goldberg and the late Leslie Jordan, added to the favorites list. "Dating My Mother," from 2018 starring Kathryn Erbe and Patrick Reilly, and the emerging 2017 queer classic "Eat With Me," which showcased George Takei and Teddy Chen Culver under the direction of David Au, completed the lineup of these heartwarming romantic comedies.

Reality competitions were a hit with Revry viewers, taking the number three spot among the most popular genres. Leading the pack was the #1 Revry original series, "Drag Latina," which won the hearts of over 1 million viewers in its first season. Behind it was "Stitch, Please!" hosted by the incomparable Blu Hydrangea.
